The high-intensity classes get your heart rate racing, while challenging your body to develop greater strength, flexibility, mobility, and resilience. Unlike other bootcamps or trainers, we're adamant about safety, form, and technique. One of our key principles is that safety is part--not the opposite--of performance. Under the direction of our expert trainers, you'll get hands-on instruction and plenty of practice to make sure you're moving properly and safely to get the most out of your training. PHKB bootcamps include:
Introduction to Kettlebells Workshop
This 60 minute workshop is required of all new PHKB clients. The workshop will introduce essential kettlebell exercises such as a variety of swings, squats, and presses, as well as pulling movements and an overview of the infamous Turkish Getup. The final 15 minutes of the workshop will feature an intense kettlebell workout that replicates the experience you'll have in any of our traditional 30 or 60 minute classes.
Level I Beginner
A heart-pounding conditioning class combining kettlebell movements and bodyweight resistance exercises. The beginner class will focus on the most basic of kettlebell exercises: swings, squats, and presses. We'll continue to incorporate bodyweight exercises and introduce more advanced skills, but the primary objective is to build work capacity, efficiency, and proficiency with basic exercises and movements.
Level I Intermediate
After testing into the Intermediate Level 1 class, we'll take your training to the next level. The intermediate Level 1 class will expand upon the basics and introduce more advanced skills such as the full Turkish Getup, the clean, and the high pull. We'll also touch occasionally on the kettlebell snatch. Students in this level course are expected to demonstrate proficiency and skill with basic exercises such as the swing, squat, and press, as we will not spend much time rehashing the basics.
Level II Intermediate
Lung-searing, heart-rate racing, muscle torching workouts. That's Level II Intermediate. We'll take the intensity and skill level up a few notches. Level II Intermediate will introduce students to the kettlebell snatch, jerk, and other higher-level exercises. These exercises will complement swings, squats, and presses as the core of the Intermediate-level class. In addition, the course will focus heavily on refining and perfecting the Turkish Getup, as well as introduce 2-kettlebell exercises.
Level II Advanced
The holy grail of training at PHKB, Level II Advanced students are expected to demonstrate perfect form in basic exercises (swings, squats, presses), proficiency in advanced-level skills with little or no direction (snatch, jerk, Turkish Getup), and have both the strength and endurance to manage exceptional work rates, heavy loads, and increased intensity. The Level II - Advanced class includes frequent 2-kettlebell exercise, high volume kettlebell snatch sets, and will also introduce and refine alternative skills such as bottoms-up clean and pressing and bottoms-up Turkish Getups. In addition, we'll be introducing Pistol Squat progressions along with occasionaly drop/juggle drills, and begin developing strength in standard exercises such as pull ups with the intention of producing well-rounded athletes capable of meeting the RKC standards for strength, mobility, and form.
With our unique training methods, you can expect to:
- Develop epic strength
- Shred fat
- Forge a heart of steel
- Get that lean, toned physique you've always wanted
- Move more fluidly, faster, and pain-free than ever before
